Tristen began her career in the mental health and wellness field in 1995, and easily developed a passion for working with children, adolescents and families. She is an expert in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Behavior Modification techniques and obtained certification as a Behavior Intervention Case Manager, which requires a strong background in training and experience in the principles of Positive Behavior analysis, treatment planning, and behavioral strategy implementation. She has enjoyed working in a wide range of therapeutic environments including Residential Treatment Centers, Juvenile Hall, Children’s Justice Center, Children's Behavioral Therapy Unit, Casa Pacifica, Ventura County Behavioral Health and several Ventura County middle and high schools.

A career highlight, Tristen started and served as the Program Manager for the Therapeutic Behavioral Services program through Casa Pacifica during 2000 - 2007.  She designed, developed, trained and supervised teams of Therapeutic Behavioral Specialist’s who served thousands of community-based, at-risk youth and their families in-home, school and community environments. Tristen was honored for her significant contributions by earning the Casa Pacifica Employee of the Year Award.

In 2007, Tristen began providing psychotherapy for children, adolescents, individuals, couples and families in private practice settings. Tristen uses an integrative approach for psychotherapy, drawing on her strong Behavioral and Solutions Focused training and combined with helpful modalities such as Psychoanalysis, Imago Therapy, and Family Systems. Tristen's style is very client-centered, geared towards healthy relationships and strong attachments. Her focus on enriching individuals, couples and families allowed for development of the Wellness Center. A Center that provides tools for revitalization of the mind, body, and spirit. A Center with numerous modalities and professionals under one roof designed to ensure overall wellness and healing for any person or family.

Tristen has therapeutic interests in the areas of women's issues, transitions, mindfulness and meditation, interpersonal neurobiology, family dynamics, parenting, healthy attachments and relationships, anger management, trauma and clinical areas of ADHD, Anxiety, Depression, and Mood Disorders. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Sociology, minor in Criminology, from the University of Utah. She also holds a Master of Science Degree from California Lutheran University in Clinical Psychology, with an emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy.  

Her interests outside of work include spending quality time with her husband and children, going to the beach, volleyball, hiking, reading, traveling and loving on her dog Sugar.
